About

Britt DiNatale, RN

A decade at the bedside in emergency departments, a career in communications before that, and a straightforward belief that the conversations leaders have every day are where teams are held together or lost.

Britt presenting at a nursing leadership conference

Britt is a second-degree nurse who spent a decade delivering nursing care in Emergency Departments around the Washington DC metro area, following a successful executive-level career in corporate marketing and communications. In recent years, Britt has contributed to the VA's Office of Healthcare Transformation, directed ANA's Project Firstline, and executed delivery of the Practicing Excellence micro-learning education platform to support skill development among teams in major healthcare systems nationwide.

Britt also co-created and facilitated a novel nurse leadership development program that trained numerous cohorts of nurses across the country to gain confidence in a wide range of skills, from engaging teams, to navigating change, to communicating effectively. This program was instrumental in recognizing the development of nurse managers as transformational leaders, with increased engagement and retention of the nursing workforce.

The thread running throughout Britt's career is a commitment to giving the healthcare workforce, and particularly nurses, a voice: advocating for a better work environment, reconnecting nurses with the purpose and meaning of their work, and treating them as change agents in the transformation healthcare needs.
